A little less conversation

Nice to dabble in cultures mellow
Interesting conversation is sure to follow.

But even the madding crowd can’t help at times
You hear the same issues, it almost rhymes.

And so you follow on this beaten down path
One time too many, you do the math!

Gadgets, Sports, Clothes and shoes
Style for style, spend money as you choose.

Apartment living, parties by the pool
Meeting new people, life is pretty cool.

Engaging proposal lined by a ring
Too expensive? There’s no such thing!

Countdown to marriage, the day looms ahead
All sobered up for the d-day, vows in your head.

Moving in with someone, the merging of things
No more space for the memoirs of your flings!

Living in small spaces, always bumping into me
Buying a home, in debt for eternity.

Culinary feats to celebrate Anniversaries and Raises
Friends in a circle, few new faces.

The banks no good, no interest for your money
Where else to put it? Remodel that home, honey!

Traveling stories, unasked questions and fame
Glory hogs vs. Silent listeners- all in the game.

So many people- so little time
To talk about life and all that is ‘mine’.

Easy it is, to be swept under this rug
In the end you’re left either envious or smug.
