Takeout is Out!

I remember jotting down recipies for deserts while I was a little kid. Well, mostly it was sis who used to jot them down AND make them... I'd be the guinea pig who ate it all. Quite willingly I assure you. (Maybe everything except the 'cottage cheese balls' she made, which to this day I think was the reason behind my dislike for cottage cheese!) :) Though I dont think I appreciated anything more than the ice-cream she made from scratch when we couldnt get any in the store at my Granma's village! Thats when my love-affair with vanilla began ... so alls well that ends well!

So now working in the field of IPTV... (If another person asks me what exactly IPTV means, I'm going to have a subscription of "What era of the stone-age are you living in" digest sent to them!) I have access to a few digital channels on my HD tv at work. Nothing too interesting I tell you! (I bet they save all the good channels for the marketing guys!) While in engineering we have more important things to do and hence management decides that the only channels we test with would be....

- History
- TNT (Does ANYbody actually watch 'Charmed' reruns?!)
- CNN
- Espn (Yeah.. Paintball and Poker are NOT sports!)
And... (here comes the drumroll).... The Food Network!

Now this is a channel I can be content with. And not only that, we've gone through the whole week without takeout and fresh healthy dinner each night instead! (I kid you not, Mom and Mom-in-law!) And the best part? Hubby ate all the broccoli florets from my stir-fry!

I cant ask for more... *siiiigh* (Well, maybe the power to make De Laurentis' Chocolate Tiramisu recipie into reality ....)

  • YOU --- long time no see!
And feels good to see a fellow FoodNetworkie! You know how easy and simple some recipes are. MAN! And let me warn you -- before long, you will want to own specific cookware and bakeware, unheard of, but makes you feel proud and happy.

  • Upsi, I was busy... watching Food Network :)) Haha thats so true man, I find myself wanting the
"little garlic press" and that "grill pan" and "pasta pot". T'will look "good" in my kitchen no doubt! :)

I like "Everyday Italian" and "Rachel Ray" the best! What about you?

  • yup -- everyday Italian topped the charts for me. OK with RRay, but not really a huge fan. Emeril Live was my fav too -- his recipes were fat ladden, but I liked the presentation.
(I was so addicted to the food netwrk while pregnant. But these days, I rarely get to watch TV)

  • I would watch Charmed reruns. I am a whore for trashy tV shows. I have been tracking the plunging necklines
